Karelian Bear Dog & Kids
August 22, 2010
Most people when considering of bringing a new dog in their house, always check if the dog will get along with their kids or just in case if one day they have kids, they want to make sure they don’t have any problems. Some people say Karelian Bear Dogs are good with children on the other hand some sources say the opposite so what is the truth? Well this depends exactly on what you mean by being good.
Bear Dogs do not thrive on human affection, they love to be in the nature, going around, exploring and hunting if possible. That being said, they surely develop a strong relationship with their owners which can be sweet and loving. Talking about kids, we never had any problems so far and i don’t think we will.
Bear Dogs are not a dog solely for your kid, this is unquestionable. They are not a type of dog that will enjoy being his ears, tail pulled. If a child continues to tease or harass the Bear Dog, its nature is to simply go away and have nothing more to do with the child.
Bear Dogs will not be a playmate dog that was desired or intended. Having said that, they will certainly find their place in the pack and will get along with the kids. But please don’t buy your kid a Karelian Bear Dog to be his buddy.
