About us

We are a married couple in their late 20’s who love all sorts of animals. We both have been raised with animals all around us.

Elaine was a dog trainer since she was 7. She got many Best in Shows, Group placements with Border Collies. Her father was a breeder of  Border Collies in the 80’s. Elaine pursued her career in animal training. Starting from Switzerland she has been working as a Dolphin/Sea Lion & Exotic bird trainer in many different countries for the last 10 years.

On the other side of the coin, my father was the first person in the world to breed Iguana’s out of their natural habitat in the beginning of 70’s. We always had dozens of cats and Cocker Spaniels running around in our garden. After completing my degree, i have worked in many marketing positions and for the last few years i ve been working for a reputable international company in Web Marketing division.

How did we decide to get a Karelian Bear Dog?

After having our first dog, we wanted to get a new breed that hasn’t been exploited. We made our research for more than a year studying different types of breeds every single day for many hours. We analyzed which breed will suit our lifestyle most.

At first we were going to get another type of Spitz but luckily enough after burning a good amount of deposit we had decided to go with a Karelian Bear Dog which we first saw on National Geographic channel about 5 years ago.

What a great choice we made, so proud to have this breed in our house. Seeing his meaningful dark brown eyes, great energy and positive spirit makes every day of our lives full of joy.

Hopefully in the future when we get our female, our kennel will be established and we will work for the recognition of this breed more widely across the world for the rest of our lives.

Important Information:

All of our dogs have a room for themselves where in the summer months an air condition is left on.

Our dogs eat the best food. We believe healthy nutrition will have a huge impact on the character, health and beauty of our dogs. Some different sources of protein they get: Lamb, Chicken, White Fish, Salmon, Prawn, Turkey, Rabbit.

All of our dogs are considered to be a part of the family. Not 1 single stupid word is tolerated from disrespectful people. They all got their answer before, and they will continue to get no matter who they are.  FAMILY FIRST.

They are freely to roam in every corner of the house and on the BED.

Sometimes we attend dog shows because it is an extra time we can spend with our dogs. We are not obsessed with dog shows and we don’t attend most of them.

We DO NOT leave our dogs in garages, terraces, cages or chain them in the backyard.

We will never put our personal ambitions before any of our dogs.

We take our dogs out 3 times daily with 30 minute intervals; this goes up in the weekends since we have full days to spend with them. We believe, exercise is the single most important thing in affecting dog’s personality, health and happiness followed by nutrition.

We rather be the best owner than the best breeder.

We will never give away any of our old dogs to anybody under no circumstance. We are disgusted by some breeders sending their old dogs away like a commodity. We are not trying to achieve anything in the expense of our dogs.

We will never put e-collars on our dogs that will discourage barking. If you don’t like dogs that bark DO NOT get a Karelian Bear Dog or any other dog for that matter.

In the future when we have puppies, the owners/homes will be carefully selected.

Anybody is free to come to our home to see our dogs and see what condition they are living in.
